Freedom Flight // WWII and Korean War Vets

Last night, June 10, 2017 -
St. Kevin's RC church hosted the Freedom Flight.  These men and women who fought in WWII and the Korean wars who never had the pomp and circumstance they deserved upon returning to the USA were welcomed "home" after a long bus trip to Washington DC to visit the memorials and such.  I think this is the 5th or more time that this has gone on in our little town of Springfield, PA.   My husband and I came with our flags to help celebrate their return.  The bikers meet the buses somewhere along the way and lead the procession up Rt 476 all the way to St. Kevins.   It is the most chilling, hair standing on end, emotional, heart warming, wonderful experience.  These men and women are so touched to be greeted in such a grand manner.  We did not know any one but it didn't matter - the tears just dripped as we thanked these men and women for their service.  If you ever have a chance to experience something like this, go, you will not be disappointed!

Even the Philadelphia Eagles Mascot was here

So touching!

This picture is priceless!  I love it!!

Rumor has it that next years Freedom Flight will be for these and Vietnam Vets!  Long over due.

God Bless America
